From breweries to bike trails, Madison shines in the summer
When I was a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, one consistent piece of advice alumni and older students gave me was to stick around for at least one Madison summer.
I finally did the summer after I graduated, and soon I was the one giving incoming freshmen that advice.
Free from cramming in exams, papers and readings, I finally had time to look up and fully enjoy the beautiful city on an isthmus between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona.
But when I returned recently as an older alumna, I was still struck by how much the city shines in the summer.
